I work on philosophy of language, especially where it intersects with ethics and metaethics. Here are some things I’ve been writing about recently:
-the semantics and pragmatics of thick terms (‘kind’, ‘cruel’, ‘blasphemous’)
-the semantics and pragmatics of slurs
-the formal structure of evaluative discourse
-the acquaintance inference
-the way that displays of blame communicate expectations
