Jim works mostly on issues in epistemology, especially as they appear in the modern and early analytic periods and in connection with logic.
His dissertation, A Haunting Conviction: Frege on Truth and Logic, is about Gottlob Frege’s view that whatever is true must fit into a systematic science, and where it leads him.
