Associate Professor of Linguistics (Ph.D., University of Massachusetts Amherst, Linguistics). She is a theoretical linguist with research interests in formal semantics, generative syntax, and their interaction, with special attention to modeling crosslinguistic variation and language universals. Recent work addresses the semantics and syntax of modals, embedded indexicals and indexical shift, the de re/de dicto distinction, and the mass-count distinction.
