(Ph.D., U.C. Santa Cruz). Mikkelsen is a faculty member in the Linguistics Department who works on the syntax, semantics, and morphology of natural languages and the relations between these. She maintains an interest in philosophy of language and participates in the Bay Area Philosophy of Language Discussion Group. She is the author of Copular Clauses: Specification, Predication and Equation (2005, John Benjamins).
